November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and that brings up brave and inspiring stories every once in a while. R&B and Voice judge Usher says he feels inspired by his 7-year old son, Cinco, by his bravery while living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Usher Raymond V, also known as Cinco, was diagnosed with diabetes last year and he has been learning and adapting himself to deal and live with the disease. He has been gaining some attention and therefore raising awareness for Diabetes. Usher has been a strong advocate as a celebrity, raising awareness and pleading for a cure for the disease, which prevents the body from producing insulin and is usually diagnosed in children and young adults. Even his younger son, Naviyd, as joined the battle, announcing that he wants to be a scientist when he grows up to cure his brother’s diabetes.

“A child that every day has to prick himself and has to be cautious of what he eats and also to carry this disorder around — that really is the type of bravery that we all aspire to have,” says Usher.

The singer is raising awareness by lauching its #T1DLooksLikeMe campaign in time for National Diabetes Awareness Month.
