14. Patti LaBelle: American singer, author, and actress who began her career in the early 1960s as lead singer and front woman of the vocal group, Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. In the early 1970s, she released the successful hit song “Lady Marmalade.” In 1976, the group split and she followed a solo career and became a mainstream solo star in 1984. She was nominated for 11 Grammy Awards and won 2 of them; she also won 7 NAACP Image Awards as well as 9 Lifetime Achievement Awards.
